Our clients need the awning to be removed as work to an extension was taking place. The old French doors were being replaced with new Bi-folding doors and a window added. The extension was also being rendered and painted.
So our team of installers removed the very large awning along with the bespoke gallows brackets. The gallows brackets were sent off to be powder-coated.
We replaced:
The old cover with a new blue cover.
A new tubular SOMFY motor, with a 5-year warranty.
Remote controls to operate the motor and a separate one for the built-in lights.
Added a vibration wind safety sensor.
Replaced the old heaters with 2 new infrared remote control heaters.
Serviced the awning and cleaned the framework
Tested the awning inward and outward limits were correct and adjusted them.
Leveled the awning and adjust the pitch.
Cleaned the awning outer framework and rain gutter.
Installation brackets refitted tested and tightened coach bolts.
Inspections of internal retaining bolts tested and tightened.
Lubricated relevant moving parts and arm pivot joints/elbows.
SBI Ltd recommends that domestic awnings should be serviced/cleaned every 2 years and commercial awnings once a year.
Additional work supplied and installed a cover in solution-dyed acrylic Docril cover 687
All of the work is guaranteed for a period of 5-years and the awning should now last another 15 years!
