Our client needed their existing traditional Victorian awning serviced and the covers replaced. The existing awnings are over a hundred years old and built into the shop front. They hadn’t been cleaned, recovered or serviced in many years. We carried out a full service, which included checking the wall fixings, retaining bolts and tightening where required. The moving parts were tested cleaned and lubricated to help provide smooth opening and closing of the awning. The spring loaded barrel that the fabric rolls around was charged up. We checked the height and adjusted the awning to make sure they were level. The internal timber housing was cleaned out before the new cover was attached. We used the traditional method of nailing the cover to the timber front. The client is delighted with appearance of the awning and will be using SBI to clean and service the awnings on an annual basis to keep it in top condition for years to come.
