After being told by several companies that our space was unsuitable for an awning due to lack of wall for a support bracket -and being advised by Hillary’s that the only solution would involve a bracket extending up and over our single-storey structure (which would require planning permission and raise the cost considerably for even a standard model) – we contacted SBI on a friend’s recommendation.
From the outset, they were friendly and efficient. They request a 50% deposit before undertaking a site survey, but this is fully refundable if you change your mind or if they find that the awning can’t be fitted.
Our site survey was arranged very quickly and carried out by Michael and Dominic. They identified the need for custom-made brackets, but these would not extend above the property line and quoted us a very reasonable price. Michael and Dominic handled the fitting side of our order from the initial survey through to the final install, and they were wonderful throughout.
Stefanie and James in head office who dealt with the admin side of things were also consistently responsive, efficient, and very friendly and supportive. When the awning fabric we wanted to sample wasn’t available in the sample book, SBI went the extra mile and hand-delivered fabric offcuts to us at no additional cost.
The awning looks amazing and much better value/service than Hillary’s. We can’t wait to enjoy our outside space, which previously was nothing special, and that’s all thanks to SBI. Our entire experience with them has been outstanding from start to finish their customer service is faultless and it’s the best recommendation we have ever taken up!
