I was unable to retract the awning which measures about 5m by 3.5m. Pat and John of SBI Ltd were most helpful and suggested ways to to reduce any further damage. Following a couple of days with strong winds the awning dropped to within 50cm of the ground. As this was more problematic with further strong winds forecast SBI were able the following day to send two of their operators, Gerard and Kevin, who temporarily retracted the awning making it safe until new parts arrive from Germany. I am most grateful to all for the splendid job they did as I was most concerned.
